Hi; I'm trying to hatch out my Angelfish spawn away from the community tank but every time I put the eggs in the rearing tank they get covered in fungus. I have a sponge filter and an air stone in this tank but still get fungus. I was told that methylene blue would stop the fungus but I have yet to find a pharmacy in London that carries it. Does anyone have a suggestion for this problem.
Thanks in advance Bob.

Some of the larger A&P store pharmacies still carry Meth Blue. Could it be that the eggs are fungused because they are not fertile?

No the eggs are fertile as some have hatched out and the fish are free swimming.

just put 2 or 3 capfuls in a glass of water and pour it in the tank above the eggs just after you add them . it wont hurt anything and does the same as meth blue

Hey All,

My thoughts exactly, what is the mysterious substance that is added to 2 or 3 capfuls of water and pour over your eggs to keep them from getting fungus? ;)

Are We There Yet?

Just to let everyone know it appears that the peroxide work as I
have not got any fungus on this batch of eggs. Also I have learned
that Meth blue is now a banned substance and cannot be sold in
Canada.
